3M wants to be a part of the Milan Design Week, creating not only a product display but a meaningful and engaging experience.
The brand wanted to communicate its values, like innovation, professionalism, and the pursuit of constant improvement,. In order to do it they wanted to engage customers directly and create the Wonder effect that has always inspired the 3M company.
“Wonder Beyond Imagination” is 3M's installation created at the Milan Triennale during Fuorisalone 2018. The installation has brought to life the concept of wonder through an interactive wall with which visitors could play and interact. Kinect technology allowed visitors to visualize their silhouette inside the screen, move and dance,. There were words pouring down the screen like rain and people had the possibility to interact with them. Those words were tweets written by the visitors defining "what the concept of Wonder means to them". To support the installation, we have recreated the smell and the sound of rain, creating a multisensory experience. Finally, an emotional video was used to explain the 3M story and vision, engaging users and using the experience to strenghen their memory of a 'wonder' experience with the brand.
